This book was inspiring on so many levels. I loved the way he was able to open himself up and show how he was able to push through the pain and overcome. His poems were heart touching and they made the chapters that much more intense. I have used this book with my clients to inspire and show them that no matter what they have been through that they can overcome anything. This book allows for you to sink your teeth and feel the pain and hardship that the writer has had to endure. It was a great book and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read. I compare this book to Donald Goines or Iceberg Slim due to the gritty life that the author had to live. The difference is that he can use his story to show how he overcame. I think that the book would be more powerful if he had gotten into deeper depths with the chapters and then allowed for the reader to see how he struggled and overcame adversity.
